You may click the link to switch the active language.<\/p><p>Many of those pursuing surrogacy choose that path due to medical issues, including infertility, or because of their sexual orientation.<\/p>\n<p>The public\u2019s perception about women and surrogacy is that women choose to have a surrogate because they don\u2019t want to ruin their figure, which diminishes and marginalizes not only these women, but the fact that infertility is a disease.<\/p>\n<p>However, what if being pregnant could compromise their career? Should those women delay having children? Not have them at all?<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Caballero, Esq., the founder of The Surrogacy Law Center, has represented such clients. She works hard to educate people who may be a little too quick to judge these situations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a woman wants to become a mother and being pregnant could threaten her job, is this really a vanity case? \u201d Caballero said. \u201cI represented a professional ballerina who happened to be single. It\u2019s such a short-lived career, and it would have been over if she did become pregnant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is her job, and she has the right to protect her job and still have a child. I don&#8217;t think it\u2019s anybody\u2019s business but her own,\u201d said Caballero, noting how a woman\u2019s career in Hollywood can be quite short. \u201cMost women do not have the career of Meryl Streep \u2013 she\u2019s an anomaly.
